Seasoned Brimingham, Alabama producer, Computer Club got at us today with the MFin’ goods! Computer Club, or, sometimes, Gigantor of Evol Intent, has been keeping busy and getting quite major in the months since his introduction last April.
Now, Computer Club takes on glithcy frenchman, Mr. Oizo’s most popular, the 1999 track, ‘Flat Beat’. ‘Flat Beat’ gained notoriety as the jingle of Levis’ television campaigns, featuring one “Flat Eric” character. You might remember? Peep the video on YouTube. That beat is essential and set the stage for much electro-house today! Here’s the extra bang’d out remix. Flat Eric made “Fat”, get it?:
Justice, everyone’s favorite French crossover phenom have released their newest music video today via (adversary come BFF) Kanye West’s blog. Now, it’s safe to say this won’t be in any MTV video blocks. The video is hostile. It’s confrontational. It may be a bit stressful to watch—How appropriate.
Justice get a lot of well deserved attention, and a ton of quality remixes come our way, here’s the creme: Montreal’s remix don, CFCF, London/Paris’ electro kids, Chewy Chocolate Cookies, Berlin’s electro superstar, Boys Noize, Parisian terror clubstar, Surkin & Charlotte’s up-and-comers, Your Drity HabiT.
We expect that tons of you have Justice’s debut LP, ‘†’, but if you haven’t, snap it up now or risk losing your credibility when fools troll your iPod. Get it hard or digital at Amazon.
Fresh off of Southern Cali’s Coachella festival, Justice are trekking through just about every music festival in the world. Always stay up on Justice shows on their official tour page on MySpace.
Hooray, Ed Banger Records mixtape series is on the eve of their third installment ‘Ed Rec Vol III’. To get y’all salivating for the May 26th release date/chow down, Feadz serves up this teaser mix.
Drooling, now? I’d like to thank Murs, whos verse drops right in the beginning repping “L.A.” and “blogs” and *ahem* “hipsters”. He must be talking about us right? How many other weblogs in the city holding it down like ‘Toof! Not many!
Parisian rapper M.I.T.C.H. is oh-so Euro-crunk, Euro-gully, Euro-trill, etc. Released on Mental Groove, M.I.T.C.H. is making major noise with ‘Fais Rentrer Les Euros’ which features Ed Banger lovebirds Feadz and Uffie.
In 2007, the American dollar is falling and Jay-Z’s flashing Euro’s in his new video—I’m with M.I.T.C.H. on this one: Let’s get this money and make it European! Fead’z remixed ‘Fais Rentrer Les Euros’ for the official release and puts the vocal effects on hard-hitting front street:
Swiss Lausanne-based label Creaked sent over this brilliant and unusual remix by Larytta. I love stuff that doesn’t sound exactly like other stuff! Don’t let the beginning fool you, this shit gets crazy-dope electronic:
Neat eh? That mix is supposed to make it on to the M.I.T.C.H. EP. The other as-yet unreleased ‘Fais Rentrer Les Euros remix, if you ain’t heard, is a super-banger by Swiss beat-heads Audioporno. Our best-friends-forever Big Stereo introduced the world to this gem a couple weeks ago and we’ve had it stuck on repeat since. Oh, and Lil’ Jon just called, he said he ain’t mad at it! O.K.!
Oh man, D*L*i*d sure knows how to get on our good side! Not only is he putting out wicked electro tracks with the Electroluxe Family on French label Quatre Records, but homeboy just did a little remix of Kris Kross‘ 1992 hit, ‘Jump’ that retains everything great about the original but adds just enough crunchy electro blips and beats. I love that it’s not overly done. J.U.M.P. for joy! Missingtoof will always have a soft-spot for those precocious little bastards! Kris Kross 4 ever. Another Bad Creation can suck an egg. Inside-out? What the hell is that?
Jeremy is from Sydney. He is 18 years old and loves to DJ. He is not to be confused with the Norwegian indie/folk band of the same name.
Jeremy is without a gimicky namesake, and we find that refreshing (with the aforementioned band, “Jeremy” it is a gimmick because no one in the band has that name).
A good mix is a good mix, no matter what you call yourself—be it what’s on your passport or DJ MegaAwesomeDJ. And Jeremy’s mix sounds good.
Jeremy’s ‘Pipemix’ is thrown down in Ableton Live for extra freshness. The mix has a underlying idea of a musical journey grounded in electro. The ‘Pipemix’ borrows a familiar sample from ‘Super Mario Bros.’—that of Mario descending down the pipe after a completed level. Jeremy “added those as a signifier for when the sound is going to change dramatically, similar to going into a pipe in Mario and coming out in a different world with different music.”
A mix with a theory? This ol’ college boy ain’t mad at it.
More than anything, the tracklist is everything I want to hear right now and nothing that I don’t.

Ed Banger phenomenon Justice performing live on last night’s ABC network, Jimmy Kimmel Live! show last night. You have to see ‘D.A.N.C.E.’ performed by Michael Jackson, Rick James, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Rod Stewart (I think) impersonators.
Get Steed Lord in your eardrums now! This Icelandic foursome makes crunkin’ disco/house that’s ready for the world’s stage. Mark my words, Steed Lord are what’s hot right now. That’s genuine statement, not just a corny-clever remark to introduce their new track entitled ‘Feel the Heat’. But, since it works so nicely as such: Steed Lord are so hot right now! So, uh, ‘Feel the Heat’!
Another new joint featuring the vocals from Krummi of Icelandic hardcore-punk outfit Minus (a Kerrang! magazine favorite). The term “dance punk” just got legitimized.
That their is the new, but their best is, perhaps, last year’s blog-hit ‘Dirty Mutha’. Straight up disco with a modern “Crunk / Electro / House” twist. The vocal talent, Kali manages to capture a little of Betty Davis in her voice. Say what(!?), an Icelandic 20-something hipster channeling the most soulful diva ever? Absolutely—It’s a strange and wonderful world. We’ve got the original and a remix by Ed Banger’s DJ Mehdi:
If do the disco, you’ll supremely dig ‘You,’ which shows how retro they go. If you take a little ‘ardcore dirty-south club bangerin’ with your disco, then don’t miss the Klever remix.
What’s this, a new Ed Banger leak?! A great discovery to wake up to. EB’s SebastiAn wowed bloggers and club goer’s across the globe with various singles & his 2007 release ‘Ross Ross Ross’. Looks like he’s gearing up to wow us all again. This is a leaked track, ,which is untitled at this point and most likely unfinished, but it’s still got our vote. Or friend and quick on the draw remix master Ryan Justin, has created an edit of SebastiAn’s new track as well. Check them both out.
You can go drool over various Ed Banger merchandise on their official seller’s site, Arcade Mode. Ryan Justin has made plenty of fresh beats, check his webby. Flying Lotus recently signed to Warp Records & has a new album out titled ‘Reset’ which you can purchase from here.
We have been lurking on San Diegan remix maestro Erbot/N0mad’s myspace page for months now. Today he decieded to delight our inbox with some of his dastardly edits. First up to bat, he dirties up Ed Banger’s Mr. Oizo’s Patrick 122. Insanity.
Head on over to N0mad’s myspace and drool in the fact that Justice commented on his page & not yours. Then download more tracks & awesome mixtapes all zshared up for you enjoyment.
